It’s Time to Fly

Throughout the course of this week I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and even as I’m writing this I’m reminded of some old promises that I have received from the Lord concerning my calling, my gifting and purpose and I’ve been reawakened to those things because for a minute I just let them go.  And I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this because through the progression of time it can become discouraging when what you physically see doesn’t match up with what you’ve both seen and heard in the Spirit.  It literally is a fight of endurance, and if you can hold on long enough you will see the manifestation of what God has said to you. But there is an in between stage from what you’ve heard and the actual manifestation of it.  I like to call it the cocoon stage. In this cocoon stage you are isolated, lonely and not the most beautiful or desirable thing to behold. It’s in this dark place that the most important part of your transformation begins to take place. The cocoon is a necessity for this change to occur, because the cocoon provides the protective covering that you need as you transform.  Without the cocoon the caterpillar could never reach its maximum potential.  When fully developed the butterfly must then BREAK its way out of the cocoon and I believe this is where most people give up…  It’s at the closest moment to BREAKTHROUGH that people draw back and bow out but let’s breakthrough and journey together through the, “The Butterfly Effect.”

Excerpt from my book, “The Memoir of a Red Bottom Shoe:”

“The changes a caterpillar makes while turning into a gorgeous butterfly are fascinating. When caterpillars start out, they can only crawl, but after their transformation they sprout wings and begin to take flight.  Do you ever wonder why caterpillars can’t fly?  It’s because they haven’t tapped into their brilliance and splendor yet.  When you trap yourself in the Peanut Mentality, you will never fly.  When you see a butterfly, do you say there goes a caterpillar?  No, because the caterpillar, through the process of metamorphosis, has changed into a butterfly.  Your name changes when your metamorphosis takes place; your life takes on an entirely different meaning.  You are no longer the same person, so it is only fitting to take on a new name for your new way of life.”

“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.”  (Genesis 32:28)

“To give you a short synopsis of this scripture reference, the name Jacob means “heel grabber, or he who supplants,” and the name Israel means “he will rule; to prevail; Prince of God.”  If you read the story where Jacob wrestled with the angel, you will see he used the arm of the flesh to get what he wanted.  God changed his identity by calling him another name, so he would forever be known as one who prevailed with God, instead of obtaining what he wanted through his own power.  Jacob had to be renamed so he could be identified with who God, not man, said he was.  Jacob was the caterpillar, and Israel the butterfly.”

“Notice that, logically, a butterfly does not turn into a caterpillar.  Why would a graceful butterfly, free to soar to great heights and cover vast amounts of territory, transform into a flightless caterpillar?  The natural succession should be that of ascending and not descending. The transformation of the caterpillar doesn’t occur overnight, but you will also never witness the caterpillar impeding its own future as a butterfly. They are constantly working toward that butterfly stage because they know from the moment they are hatched as caterpillars they are butterflies in transition.  They instinctively know who they are, existing for the natural order of things.  That is what I call the Butterfly Effect.

About three weeks ago I read a Facebook post by Lance Wallnau and I thought it was very appropriate to share in this blog he said, “Every seed has a “due date” and many of the seeds you sowed years ago are coming to harvest now. The admonition of Paul is to “faint not!” The Hebrew meaning conveys a level of frustration that wants to “throw in the towel” BUT DON’T! Your delay isn’t really a delay, it’s a “due season” situation where the very thing you were seeking before, has been upgraded from crawling to flying! You are getting your wings.”

Stay encouraged everyone, “IT’S TIME TO FLY.”

On a side note, if you haven’t purchased my book, “The Memoir of a Red Bottom Shoe,” you can do so through my blog or looking me up on Amazon.  Until next time…

Take A Knee

I’m often inspired by movies.  For some reason I frequently glean spiritual meaning from most movies that I watch, not all of them but when it comes to movies like “After Earth” I definitely walk away with a sense of purpose and destiny. I don’t know maybe that’s weird LOL!  But the common theme that I found in this movie was the phrase, “take a knee.”  Every time the character Kitai became fearful, overly anxious and uneasy, his father’s voice called out to him and told him to “take a knee.”  And it’s the same thing with our Heavenly Father.  Whenever we become tempted with fear, He calls for us to “take a knee.”  And of course for me that means getting into a posture of prayer. It matters not your physical position in taking a knee but mostly the posture of your heart.  We have so many matters that happen outwardly that can cause fear to spring up inwardly.  It could be a terminal diagnosis from the doctor, the loss of a job and not knowing how you’re going to make it financially, a wayward child, a broken marriage or whatever you’re going through that produces fear.  And the thought process that follows fear is always negative.  Thoughts like you’re going to die from that disease, you will never find a job and you’re going to lose everything, your child will never be saved, your husband or wife will never come back.  A fearful state of mind makes everything look improbable and phrases like I can’t, it won’t, and that’s impossible are commonplace.  In no way does fear ever establish a sense of hope or faith.

My favorite quote from the movie that speaks volumes to the spirit of fear is, “Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity Kitai. Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice. We are all telling ourselves a story and that day mine changed.”  This quote is so powerful on so many levels because it shows us that fear makes our situation appear more dismal than it actually is.  It feeds on our doubts, our worries, and our unbelief causing us not to receive the answers needed to get us through our circumstances, making us forego entering into His rest, and ultimately forfeiting the promises of GOD (See Hebrews 3 & 4).  I once heard a preacher breakdown the word fear into an acronym… F.E.A.R is False… Evidence… Appearing… Real…  Not only is that spot-on but it brings further clarity and shines a light on the quote from the movie in a simpler way.  If you’ve ever seen “After Earth” the thing that Kitai feared the most was no match for him once he overcame his fear of it.  The source of his fear couldn’t detect him.  He became invisible to the Ursa.  And because of that he was able to conquer and kill the very thing that sought to destroy him. But the only way the Ursa could locate Kitai was through his fear. With that said don’t allow fear to attract destructive and damaging agents into your life (i.e. sickness, disease, death, destruction).  Instead of focusing on the source of your fear which in turn will make your problem seem bigger, focus on your God who is Greater, Higher, and Superior to any mountain you could ever face.

Philippians 4:7-9 says,

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

I know it can be challenging to center your focus on GOD when things get out of control in your life and you feel like you have to put out fires at every turn but faith and fear cannot co-exist… Once fear enters faith flies out of the window and when faith announces itself fear walks out of the door.  A mentor of mine said it so straightforwardly and powerfully coming from the text found in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

He said:

“What that tells me is that when fear closes in on us we don’t have to receive what’s not been given from the Lord. However, when fear closes in we can take that as a cue to press in to receive what God HAS given; power, love, and sound judgment. Fear comes to short circuit our power, our love, and our ability to make sound decisions. Use fears presence to go after and receive more of God’s 3 fold combative weapon against fear – More Power, More Love, and More Wisdom.”

To further confirm what he was saying 1 John 4:18 (CJB) says,
There is no fear in love. On the contrary, love that has achieved its goal gets rid of fear, because fear has to do with punishment; the person who keeps fearing has not been brought to maturity in regard to love.

A person who is firmly rooted and grounded in God’s love for them understands that when adversity does occur in our lives that all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28).  When you know that God loves you, you know that the sickness that has come upon your body “is not unto death,” that the loss of your job will lead to a better opportunity and success, that your wayward child will be saved, delivered and on Fire for Jesus. Every impossibility becomes possible.  Matthew 19:26 states, But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. When all things are in proper perspective you begin to realize that God has a plan and that His plan includes welfare and peace NOT evil and to give you hope in your final outcome (Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified).

So the next time fear tries to creep in “TAKE A KNEE.”  Do NOT permit fear to arrest your ears because fear does talk and you must learn to speak back.  You must feed your faith and starve your fear…  You starve your fear by coming OUT of agreement with your problem and in coming INTO agreement with your solution, which is found through reading, praying, and confessing the Word of God.  And the most important component I found in the movie “After Earth,” is that Kitai relied on his father’s voice to lead him on his mission and we MUST Trust, Depend On, HAVE Faith In and BE Confident In our Heavenly Father’s ability to lead us in every chapter of life when we fully submit to His voice.

That’s all for now so be encouraged in this, stay encouraged in this and encourage someone else in this :).

For your listening pleasure:

Frustrated? Tired?? Weary??? Read this…

Over the past few months or so I’ve been really frustrated so much so that I just wanted to give up in the middle of the process and say forget it. No, I’m NOT talking about giving up on God and walking away from my relationship with Him but walking away from the things that I’ve both seen and heard in the Spirit concerning my life, my call, and ministry in general. I’m not quite sure why it has been so intense this month but I’ve been feeling it very strongly. I actually didn’t want to write this blog entry on it and avoided it because I didn’t want to accidentally encourage myself not to back out of the process LOLOL!!! But it won’t stop cropping up so I may as well blog on it, but I’m still wrestling with it if I’m honest about it and it has taken me a few days to even complete what I’ve written thus far. But here I am AGAIN working on this entry and it is grueling to write it by the way, so the Lord must really want me to finish it or He wouldn’t keep bringing it up. It is not intended to be the most eloquently written entry or “religiously correct” just pure honesty and transparency. Trust me I know enough Christian cliché’s and the “right” things to say when this type of mindset hits others but not so much with myself because frankly speaking I don’t want to hear it. And sometimes saying the “right” thing doesn’t always help but can serve as an irritant to those who have been digging in the trenches for yearssssssssssssssssssssssssss and haven’t seen the manifestation yet.

I just want to be clear because I know I can’t be the only person who’s been fighting discouragement and frustration. Even though this month has been rough and I’ve been trying to talk myself out of the process for reasons which I know, I just haven’t been able to “follow through” with eliminating the source of my frustrations. I keep having this undeniable strength rise up on the inside of me and my seeing hasn’t slowed down either, which makes it harder to ignore LOL! I tend to dream a lot and there has been a recurrent image of elevators going up in my dreams, so I’m sure the resistance has something to do with higher dimensions and advancement but that still doesn’t make it easier by any means and this frustration is probably serving its purpose as well bringing all things to perfection.

I know some people are probably reading this judging the heck out of me but I really don’t care because you can’t escape people judging you I don’t care what you do. And just for the record I’m not writing this to have a pity party or to call for fake cheerleaders to pat me on the back. But anyway every time this frustration rises to the surface there is this counter attack on the inside of me that resists and fights the urge to wave the white flag so to speak. I now have a deeper appreciation for the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (CJB) which says, “but he told me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is brought to perfection in weakness.” Therefore, I am very happy to boast about my weaknesses, in order that the Messiah’s power will rest upon me.” So if expressing myself in this manner will cause His power to rest upon me, I will boast all the more in my frustrations. I can admit that without shame of what anyone will think or say about me or my journey.

The funny thing about all of this is that as I’m writing I’m reminded of a dream that I had a few months back and in that dream a demonic force was trying to discourage, frustrate and demean me and I rose above it and conquered it. I am also reminded and find immense encouragement from Biblical precedents in the Word of God of great people who have gone through the process like me, and that I’m not alone nor am I immune to the process or the feelings associated with it. Nonetheless, I am responsible with what I do with these feelings and if I will allow them to define me or REFINE me (1 Peter 1:7, Job 23:10).

I would like to underline a very familiar story and that is the life of Joseph. There are so many other notable examples found in the Bible but if I highlighted them all this blog would never end. But here goes:

3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

Genesis 37: 5, 9 (JOSEPH DREAMS)

5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

Genesis 37:23-24 (THROWN INTO A PIT)

23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;

24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

Genesis 37:23-24 (SOLD TO SLAVE TRADERS)

27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.

28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

1And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.

2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

6 And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

Genesis 39:8-9 (JOSEPH’S REFUSAL)

8 But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

16 And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.

17 And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:

18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.

19 And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

Genesis 39:20 (THROWN INTO PRISON)

20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

The story of Joseph doesn’t end in prison but in order to shorten this amazing story I will tell you that he found favor in prison and was placed in charge over all the prisoners and while there Pharaoh’s chief baker and butler ended up in jail. They each had a dream which Joseph interpreted. After Joseph revealed the meaning of the dreams he asked the butler to remember him. Ironically, the butler returned to his former position and quickly forgot all about Joseph. Then Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret and the butler remembered Joseph. Through the dream, God warned of 7 years of famine and God gave Joseph a strategy to spare the nation, so Pharaoh appointed him Prime Minister (second in command) of Egypt to oversee his plan. Joseph was the chosen vessel for his generation and God used a famine to birth an entire nation. By bringing Joseph back to Jacob and his brothers God restored the 12 chosen tribes of Israel. I believe Genesis 50:20 sums this fantastic story up pretty well and it says, “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” While all of the details of Joseph’s life aren’t pretty, his process (DREAM, PIT, PRISON, PALACE) lets us all know that all things do work together for good to them that love GOD and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

I know most people are enamored by the miraculous endings and conclusions of people’s lives and processes but I’m more interested in the details the good the bad and the ugly. The loneliness, the rejection, the isolation, the battle weariness and the tiredness associated with it all. I want to SEE and HEAR “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, let not my will but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42). Jesus at any time could’ve dropped out of the process, called legions of angels to rescue him but how could the scriptures be fulfilled if He did that (Matthew 26:53-54)??? He became OBEDIENT unto death even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). We are no different in our process and if we are to be and do what GOD has called us to be and do we must submit to God’s process and not hinder it with how we think it should happen, when we think it should happen and where we think it should happen, and perhaps the process is used to kill anything that deters full trust in His plan.

Several years ago I had a vision of a dead man floating in the river of blood and I didn’t receive the meaning of that vision until 6 years later. The meaning of it was, “You cannot flow in the river of the anointing that is in my blood until you die completely.” And if I can make that relevant with my present frustration I would find encouragement in the fact that as soon as I die to my way there will be a flow of His anointing to not only get me through the process but to come out of it bigger, better, stronger and in the POWER of His Spirit (Luke 4:14).

If you can relate to having felt resistance and attack this month in particular, below you will find tremendous inspiration and strength from Doug Addison and John Kilpatrick.

Here’s a portion of a prophecy for the month of March from Doug Addison: “There has been a horrendous attack against those who are advancing right now. March is coming in like a lion with warfare and resistance but it is going out like a lion as well. The result will create a new strength of character that you need right now: to be “gentle as a lamb.” Humility is a key to overcoming and advancing.

March Forward!

If there is one word to describe what we need to do…that is “March.” Forward motion will open the doors in front of you and close the doors behind. “As you go” things will open. Don’t sit down or give up right now. The enemy’s plans are to get you discouraged and quit, but God is sending help and angelic reinforcements.

The first three months of 2014 have been a testing time. Many people have taken themselves out of the game but it is not time to back down. It is time to keep moving forward!!! God is promoting people who are able to overcome, remain humble and engaged.”

Here’s the link if you want to read the entire prophecy:

And this is the video of John Kilpatrick:

And always remember Philippians 3: 7-13

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Until next time friends BE ENCOURAGED and in the words of Mark Chironna, “A season is not a sentence.”

I just had a sudden sense of urgency to talk about worship.  And no I’m not talking about Sunday morning worship; I’m talking about all day everyday worship in your own home; cultivating a lifestyle that is always hosting His presence and is always sharing DEEP intimacy with Him.  I know life can be busy and filled with “activity” that we forget to just give ourselves a minute to worship Him, and to do it without the laundry list of OUR problems, OUR hopes, OUR dreams, OUR desires and OUR concerns.   Don’t misread me, GOD wants you to bring everything to Him but that shouldn’t be the ceiling of your relationship with Him.   I can be guilty of this at times myself and it is essential to refocus and get GOD’s perspective.  He isn’t a machine like most treat Him. He is a person who has longings for us beyond our comprehension.  We are GOD’s obsession.  He desires to be with us at all times.  He created us for that relationship.  He created us for Himself (Colossians 1:16) and sometimes too often we think that He wants to share us with EVERYONE else, that is just not so.  Of course, we all have assignments that He has placed on our life that we must fulfill to the Glory of GOD and that is worship as well, but that doesn’t mean our existence centers around that one facet of our lives.  Our existence CENTERS on HIM.  And to further clarify, our gifting’s, our anointing’s, our supply must flow from Him anyway.  He gave them to us as a gift and to flow in it effectively for His Kingdom, we must submit it back to Him all of the time, so that we aren’t abusing it or using it for our OWN glory because ALL GLORY belongs to Him alone and nothing of ourselves.  We also have family and friends that pull on our time and GOD gives us family and friends to have and to love but they are NEVER to replace Him.

GOD wants you to shut the door of your own house and separate from the rest of the world and its many affairs and focus on Him and you.  Forget the “EVERYONE” else mentality and sharing yourself with OTHERS.  The Bible says His name is Jealous (Exodus 34:14).  He’s a jealous GOD.  GOD wants to share something with JUST YOU between two lovers without you running back and sharing it with others.  He’s longing for the sacred.  I know as ministers of the Gospel at any capacity when you hear something or get something from God the tendency for some is to make a message out of it for others, but GOD is wanting to keep something between you and Him something intimate that no one else knows about, like a secret between lovers.   Don’t ask GOD to fill you up to give it to anyone else BUT Him.  We often pray GOD fill me up to give it out to others, but let Him fill you up to GIVE it back to Him, and let the OVERFLOW spill out onto others.  This is about no one else, just YOU AND HIM!  Give Him the intimacy He desires.   Intimacy at its very core is personal, it’s private.  When is the last time you used your gift one -on- one with GOD.  No OTHER person around to “perform” for?  No one else around to applaud?  No one around to acknowledge the gift that He PLACED on the inside of you but Him?  Does He not deserve to enjoy it by Himself???  If you write, write him a love letter between the two of you. If you dance, dance before him, if you sing, sing a love song to Him.  Just you and Him.  Share something personal with Him that no one else gets the pleasure of delighting in, something TRUE lovers would share.

GOD deserves to be appreciated. He deserves our adoration.  He deserves our reverence.  He deserves first place.  He deserves our undivided worshipful attention.  Not some second rate relationship in which we are the only beneficiaries.  Some might think it doesn’t take all of that, or GOD understands your busy schedule etc.  But it does take ALL of that and then some.  You wouldn’t expect your spouse, your closest friends, your children, or any of your loved ones to live off of the fumes of your love, but you want them to live off of the furnace of your love.  You want to build on an intimate relationship so that they feel special, important and significant in your life.  GOD is no exception.  He wants that too.  He wants you to KNOW HIM. He wants you to know the innermost desires of His heart.  He wants you acquainted with what makes Him laugh, what makes Him smile, what warms His heart.  GOD is multifaceted and cannot be held by this box we create for Him.  GOD is sooooooo much more than what we could ever fathom with our minds.  He has things that He enjoys.  He has His likes and dislikes just like we do.  He wants you to ENJOY and take PLEASURE in Him.

Could you imagine what your life would look like if GOD was your ultimate obsession?  If we were always consumed with where He was going, what He was doing, what He was saying, what He felt, and what He thought, what He desired??? If your mind was always preoccupied with Him?  If you were fascinated with Him in such a way that nothing could pull you away from Him? If you were just so full of Him?  He doesn’t want you just to imagine it; He wants you to experience it!  This might seem extreme to some people but for those of us who identify with this I pray that this year you will get to know GOD above and beyond your wildest thoughts and imagination and that you tap into the deepest wells of His Spirit that there is no place of return for you.  I pray that you become so intoxicated and addicted to His presence that the brightness of His glory is seen upon your face.  I pray that you ooze His presence and that He seeps from your pores.  I pray that you know what’s on His mind and in His heart at all times, so much so that He comes down just to speak with you face to face, like a man speaks to his friend.  I pray that you become a walking, talking, living, breathing TRUE friend of GOD.  I pray that you encounter GOD in such a new and fresh way that it opens up the gateway for fresh revelation, dreams, visions, and supernatural occurrences that will revolutionize your life and that will be a wellspring of life to you that you can keep returning to and be continuously filled.  I pray that GOD seals you today with this purpose in mind and that is to KNOW Him and be known of Him.  In JESUS Name.  So be it!

For your listening pleasure:

Hello Everyone, I know it’s been awhile since I posted on my  blog, it is definitely longggggggggg overdue and I’ve had a 4 letter word called HOPE in my Spirit for about 3 months or so, and I had a sense of urgency and a release to finally share it…  It was actually when I was listening to Jenn Johnson during my prayer time and it was a total prophetic and spontaneous moment in the song and it just kind of stuck with me, she said, “Give me eyes to see like I’ve never seen before, let faith arise tonight, let fresh passion rise and wake us out of our sleep. Let fresh faith arise to believe you for the things that we haven’t seen.  Oh let faith arise, let HOPE arise…”  And when she got to the word HOPE it really struck a chord in me, so I decided to do a blog on it, to not only encourage myself but to hopefully encourage you too.

By definition hope means a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, it’s a feeling of trust and confidence.  I know we hear sooo much about faith, but you can’t hear about faith without hearing about hope…  Faith and hope are siblings; they go hand in hand… You can’t have one without the other.  You can’t be faith filled and hopeless; you need the both of those things working together.

I love this quote by Dutch Sheets, he said, “Hope motivates. Faith overcomes. Perseverance prevails. Dreaming creates. Worship connects. Prayer births. Unity multiplies. Love wins.”  It’s so simple but so accurate in how he worded that…

Hope is what motivates you to keep believing, to keep standing, to keep praying, to keep professing, and I know sometimes in life you feel like GOD is absent and what you’ve been hoping for will NEVER happen, and I’ve been there, I’ve been in that position.  But the truth of the matter is GOD never left you… He will never leave you nor forsake you.  When you become hopeless, you left GOD, you forsook GOD… It’s never the other way around.  If you can quiet yourself and the other voices that you’ve given more power over GOD’S voice, you will hear what He’s saying about what you’ve been hoping for.

I know I’m not saying things that you haven’t heard before, and you’ve probably heard enough Christian cliché’s to write a book.  And you get tired of hearing, don’t give up, you can do it, you’re almost there, it’s always darkest before the dawn, joy comes in the morning and the list goes on and on.  And your reaction is more than likely, I’ve heard that before, I’m tired of waiting, when is my change going to come? etc. etc…. But it is in motion as we speak, as a matter of a fact while I was meditating on hope yesterday I heard the word drones and I feel like God is sending out spiritual drones and they are carrying bombs of healing, bombs of deliverance, bombs of safety, bombs of joy, bombs of peace, bombs of increase and they are being dropped into our lives by the Spirit of God.   And these drones are moving at such a phenomenal rate of speed that they are going undetected, and that means nothing will be able to stop them, nothing will be able to hinder them, and nothing will be able to slow them down.

And also about 4 days ago when I was waking up out of my sleep I heard 4 day turnaround.  I’m not sure who that is for, but I was reminded of it on yesterday, so I feel like that is for someone.  I don’t know what the doctors are saying, what the lawyers are saying, or what whoever is saying but there is a 4 day turnaround coming to someone.   And I know a lot of people are becoming tired but aren’t ready to quit yet, and some people are on the edge of giving up, and there are some of you who have already thrown in the towel and have determined in your mind that this faith thing doesn’t work, it hasn’t been working for me or for anyone that is around me, but I want to encourage you to allow the Spirit of God to stand up on the inside of you and begin to press against the fear, press against the anxiety, press against the doubt, and press against the unbelief because it will happen if you don’t quit.

There is a reason why Galatians 6:9 instructs us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not…  Why does it say and let us not be weary???  It’s not to sound fancy, it’s because your natural proclivity after well doing and not seeing anything, is that you would want to give up BEFORE your due season, you will feel like fainting BEFORE you reap, especially if you aren’t holding on to HOPE and you aren’t laying hold on faith. And a lot of people are in this position, but don’t quit before you see what God has already done and made available to you.

I love what Hebrews 10:35-39 says, because it pretty much sums it up, it says,

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

The keyword is patience and A LOT of it. We live in a microwave society and we want what we want and when we want it, and it doesn’t always happen that way.

Some things are instant, and a lot of things aren’t, so just strap on your seatbelt really tight and get ready for the hills, the valleys, and the wilderness experiences of life.  I know you may not want to hear that but they will happen.

But the GOOD NEWS is, IF, which is a subordinating conjunction… Going to give you a little English lesson for today… A subordinating conjunction introduces a dependent clause and indicates the nature of the relationship among the independent clause(s) and the dependent clause(s).

In a nutshell that means something is required of YOU…  YOU CAN’T FAINT. YOU CAN’T GIVE UP. YOU CAN’T QUIT.  And when you don’t you will REAP, IF you faint not.

And just for preaching sake

Let’s call GOD the independent clause, and call you the dependent clause…  And IF is introducing you to the promise.

Well that’s all I have for today.  I hope I didn’t keep you any longer than you wanted to be kept.  Please feel free to leave some feedback on my page my page I would love to hear from you… Also, if you haven’t purchased my book, The Memoir of a Red Bottom Shoe, you can do so right here on my blog,  On the left side of the screen you will see an image of my book, you just have to scroll down, click on that link and you will be connected to my publisher’s website.  And for all of my ebookers you will find a link to purchase the eBook on that site as well.

Thanks for your time… HOPE to hear from you soon. Until next time :)

I was listening to a sermon by Bill Johnson, and he said something that really struck me.  It was so simple but yet so profound.  He said if “you engage with the Holy Spirit because you want to merely be effective in ministry then you’re developing professional intimacy, and what do we call people who are intimate as a profession?”  He never used the term whore but it’s pretty evident what he meant without saying it outright. So, what does a whore do?  They engage in the ACT of intimacy without having true intimacy.  There is no relationship, only the gratification of time spent performing an act without any devotion, commitment or loyalty.  The nature of the “relationship” is inconsistent in fact it doesn’t even have to occur more than one time.  With that said; how many of us spend time with God because we have a speaking engagement or new ministry opportunity???  Or how many of us create MORE time to spend with Him when ministry prospects arise?  It is so imperative that we develop a relationship with God for pure intimacy with Him over demonstrating being “spiritual.”

You should live in constant communion with Him.  Because you can be Bishop this, Apostle that, or the Great and Mighty Prophet all you want, but that means nothing if you don’t truly possess the nature, characteristics and qualities of the one that you say SENT you.   You only develop those things by spending time with Him.  And what I mean by that is this; you can show forth signs and wonders etc… without having a relationship with God.  That’s unmistakable because witches, warlocks, mediums, psychics etc… can perform signs and wonders by the influence of familiar spirits, and look like they are of God and they aren’t.  What makes you any different if you only spend time with Him because your aim is to “perform” well behind the pulpit?  That’s called prostituting a relationship.  Just because He uses you doesn’t denote a relationship.  Matthew 7:20-23 says, 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?  and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

People become so blinded by gifts and anointing that they don’t even recognize the fruit or lack thereof on people’s lives.  They mistake operating in signs and wonders as a relationship with God.  Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with praying for your ministry and any engagements that you may have, but that shouldn’t be the end all be all of you dedicating time to God.   John 15: 14-15 says, 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.  15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Being a friend of God signifies relationship, you can’t call someone your friend if you don’t spend quality time with them, and a true friend doesn’t spend time only when they need something.  “A servant obtains His favor by what He does, a friend by the relationship” (Bill Johnson).  It is that developed relationship that gets enjoyment by just being able to be with that person and not just doing a task.  John 15:4 says ABIDE in me…  Abide in the Greek means to stay, continue, dwell, endure, remain etc.  We must abide in Him, not just to preach, prophesy, perform miracles etc… but we must abide in Him because we love Him and want to be with Him, and you only want to be with Him by being WITH Him.  It’s totally backwards from our natural appetite.  Example:  when it comes to eating natural food, you don’t become less hungry by NOT eating you become hungrier.  When it comes to God, you become less hungry for Him the less time you spend with Him.  So if your “relationship” with God is only based on performing in ministry then that will be the extent of where you will go in God.  You will only pray when it comes to ministry and that will be the lid that YOU placed on your connection with God.  “He will use you but you will have a limit on where you can go because He won’t be able to trust you with too much because you will think that it’s you” ( Bill Johnson).  And who wants that type of relationship with God?   So, the question that I would like to submit to you is, are you a spiritual whore, or a true friend of God???

ONE Desire

You can have all of the money, fame, and popularity in the world, but it all comes down to that ONE desire that we all share.  You can’t go over Him, you can’t go underneath Him, and you can’t seem to avoid Him.  This ONE desire can be disguised as something else, but nothing will ever compare to the person of this ONE desire, and that is Jesus.  Voids, imperfections, flaws, fears, misguided ambitions, greedy aspirations, and the utter sinful nature of our being WITHOUT Him, floods and overtakes us as we drown in our desperation of filling our lives up with everything but Him.  These wrongful substitutions of His glory will never fulfill that deep longing in our souls.  We reach out to people, places, and things that seem to mirror what we think we desire, but it all comes back to Him.

Our dreams, our goals, our hopes are all wrapped up in the awesomeness of His plan, if we can just learn to grasp His hand, then and only then will it all make perfect sense.  But instead of taking the straight gate and the narrow way, most choose to go by way of the wide gate and the broad way.  Popular opinion and being politically correct seems to rule the day while standing for righteousness falls by the he say, she say, most of which isn’t based on anything that HE would say.  Fighting and bickering, quarrelling and squabbling, all disguised as passion and love for the Bridegroom, but even these heated debates are not what gives us His traits, further setting us apart from the wheat that we wish to emulate.

Back to this ONE desire that surrounds us all, gently poking and prodding so that He can by someone save us all.  We say in our hearts if we can only just have THAT house, THAT car, THAT job, THAT social circle, we will be happy, but TRUE happiness isn’t dictated by the things we can attain, but only by how we maintain; that ONE desire that plagues our thoughts, how can I give up my life to follow that ONE???  Jesus Christ is His name AND there is no need to be ashamed.  Admit that you NEED Him and your life will NEVER be the same!

I’m living proof of what this ONE desire can do molding and shaping my life and making me brand new.  Teaching and training me as only He can do.  Healing and claiming me for His use.  There is no mystery to how much He loves you, He sent His only Son to die for you.  So while you’re out searching the world for something to fulfill, look to Him instead, and He will bring you back from the dead.    ONE Desire.

The Love Encounter

As I sit in my room on my bed I’m accompanied by a faint amount of sunlight peeking through an accidental opening in my curtains.  And I’m pleasantly surprised by its presence as I meditate on the faithfulness of God.  Even though I purposely left the lights off in my room, I’m still met with light, and that same faithfulness that the sun will shine.  The sun brings light during the day and it guards the daytime skies.  And that is a subtle reminder that the Son is still shining bright even in your darkest hours of disobedience, faithlessness, and fear His love still translates and that light still emanates in your life driving out the darkness that plagues you. It doesn’t matter if you can see that light or if you can sense that light, HE is still shining and that love is still extended towards you.  Romans 8:35-39 says, 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Nothing.  Nothing.  Nothing.  Nothing can separate us from the love that is found in the light of Jesus Christ.  It doesn’t matter how far you drift away from Him or if you have never accepted Him into your heart, you cannot do anything that would make Him love you less than what He does at this very moment.  And you can measure that love by the cross He died on so that you can have eternal life.  There is no greater love than someone who would die for you.  There is nothing more powerful than His love.  That love that stretches out its hand when it sees you about to fall off of a cliff, that love that hovers over you like a protective Father, that love that blocks the hands of the enemy and says STOP IT, THAT’S ENOUGH!  It never fails.  It never gives up.  It never runs out.  God is so insanely in love with you and He will stop at nothing to gain your heart, so give it to Him today.  There is no one more deserving or trustworthy of your most precious gift, and that is your heart.  He will never break your heart.  He will never exploit your heart.  He will never neglect your heart.  But He will fill it up with His love.

I’m so overwhelmed and enraptured by this love.  I had my first love encounter when I was in middle school and have never been the same since.  He changed my life so significantly that everyone around me was aware of the difference He made in my life.  He translated me from darkness into the light and totally changed my nature, my appetites, and behavior.  It didn’t matter what life did to me or how much it tried to beat that love encounter out of me, nothing could keep me away from Him.  My life has not been without challenges, obstacles, and storms but His love has strengthened me and it only amazes me how His love brought me through the loss of a father, 2 brothers, a grandmother, and how His love restored me from being hurt and betrayed by people that should’ve had my best interest at heart and didn’t.  His love reached down and healed me of Meningitis when I was 21 years old in the hospital fighting for my life.  His love did all of that for me!   I cannot tell it all what His love has done in me, for me and through me.   But I know that when I encountered Him I was never the same, and I invite you to encounter that love with me.  His presence and His love are tangible.  There are some of you that have not encountered the love of God.  And he wants to encounter you today. And He wants you to feel His love.  If you have never accepted Him into your heart leave an opening in your heart so that the light can shine through.

Say this prayer with me:  God, I’m a sinner in need of Savior.  I repent, and ask you to forgive me of all my sin.  I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son, that He shed His blood so I might be forgiven and that He rose from the dead, and He is coming back again.  I confess Him now as my Savior and I invite Him to make my heart His home, and I commit to follow you for the rest of my life.    Amen.
